Summit Leadership Adventure Course
Registration is now open for Summit Leadership Adventures!
LAU is excited to announce that we have partnered with Summit Journeys, led by world-renowned adventurer Martin Frey! Summit Journeys will host a Summit Leadership Adventure course for LAU high school students near East Canyon Reservoir on a developed ranch with access to high-quality adventure activities. This will be an excellent opportunity for our current students in grades 9-12 to learn life-changing, character-building, and leadership-developing skills through tailored adventure education.
Registration for the Summit Leadership Adventure course is now open for the following session dates:
- May 29 – June 2
- June 5 – June 9
- June 12 – June 16

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register for this course?
Registration for the Summit Leadership Adventure course is first-come, first-served. All interested LAU students should fill out this interest form. Because SIS registration is closed for the 2022-23 school year, students who register for Summit Leadership Adventure after March 23, 2023, will be manually registered in SIS by the LAU Registrar.
Will students receive High School Credit for attending Summit Leadership Adventure?
Yes! All LAU students in grades 9-12 who attend can receive 0.5 Elective credit for one session of Summit Leadership Adventure.
How much will this cost?
Leadership Academy of Utah will cover the cost of one session for students enrolled in grades 9-12 during the 2022-23 school year. The cost to attend this course as a self-pay student is $579.50. This includes food, lodging, and all activities.
Can my student that is graduating attend?
Yes. Students that will graduate in May 2023 are eligible to attend.
Can my student who is going into 9th grade next year attend?
No. This opportunity is strictly for current high school students.
How long will registration be open?
LAU preferential registration will be from February 24 to March 20, first-come, first-served. After March 20, registration will be open to self-pay students. It is anticipated that sessions will fill up quickly, so it is recommended that students register early.
Can my student attend more than one session?
Yes! Students must self-pay for additional sessions but are welcome to attend as many sessions as they want. LAU students interested in participating in more than one session should register and submit payment directly to Summit Journeys.
Can Non-LAU students attend?
Yes! Non-LAU students who meet the grade requirement (grade 9-12 during the 2022-23 school year) are welcome to join us as self-pay students. They must register and submit payment directly to Summit Journeys.
Cancelation Policy
Due to staffing and other preparations required for this event, we ask that any cancellations occur before March 20.
Food and Other Allergies
Additional food options will be provided for students with basic food allergies to be specified on the registration forms. Students with unique dietary needs will need to make their own individual accommodations.
