Weekly Parent Email – August 27, 2021
It has been a pleasure getting to know your student in these first few weeks of school! In this short period of time, we have already seen many transformational learning experiences among students. The caliber of students who come to LAU is truly extraordinary. We’re grateful to have this chance to serve you and interact with principled young leaders like your student. We hope you’re both enjoying your experience so far.
Here is your update for the coming week!
Sincerely,
Pete Jensen
Executive Director, LAU
Announcements
LAU communication clarification: Every LAU student has been given an @lautah.org email address. These emails are created exclusively for LAU computers, digital program access, and LAU student book ordering. LAU does NOT communicate with students through this email address. All parent and student communication still takes place through SIS and through the student/parent email on file in SIS. Please verify that your email address and phone numbers are up to date in SIS to ensure you are receiving all LAU communications. Please note: since no one under the age of 13 can have an unsupervised Google account, applicable students have been assigned an email through their parents. These email addresses are set up using the parent’s name who set up the student’s SIS account. If you have questions about or problems with your student’s email account, please email computers@lautah.org.
12th-grade plan for college and career readiness meetings are coming up! 12th-grade students should be receiving an email through SIS with instructions on how to sign up for their meeting with a school counselor. Students will discuss their graduation progress and any other related information. If your student has not received their sign-up email, please contact Kate Chaney.
QuestBridge National College Match applications now open: Applications for QuestBridge’s National College Match program are now available! This college scholarship program is designed for high-achieving, low-income high school seniors. Applications are due Tuesday, September 28. Click here to learn more about National College Match.
SORA online library is up and running! LAU has both e-books and audiobooks available through SORA, our online library. Every student has access to this great resource and can sign up by following these simple instructions.
