Weekly Parent Email – October 28, 2022
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting over 100 of our students at the Halloween Dance. I also met many parent chaperones who were very helpful and supportive. Since then, I’ve been processing a few observations.
First, our families are amazing. The values they teach our young people are evident in our students’ interactions with the staff and themselves. I feel fortunate to be involved with such high-caliber young people. It is refreshing to see young men and women who respect others and work to be inclusive of all students. I want you to know that we have a special school with young people training to be outstanding leaders. I left the evening feeling reassured that our future is bright because of the talents and skills these young students are developing.
Second, Leadership Academy of Utah, in collaboration with Williamsburg Learning, is deeply committed to helping parents “prepare promising students for meaningful lives as principled leaders.” Connecting with others is a key value for distinguished leadership.
One of the best ways to connect students is through Friday’s Outdoor Adventures. These activities have always been a favorite for students and families. I’m also thrilled about our upcoming Leadership Adventures. These dynamic and engaging activities will happen on ten Fridays during the second semester. They will connect students to their peers and other vital organizations/people throughout the State of Utah. We have a visit planned to the State Capitol, field trips to meet leading entrepreneurs, museum explorations, and many more engaging leadership experiences.
Students can earn a .50 credit for participating in one of these unique opportunities. If your student is interested, please encourage them to sign up now!
Warmest regards,
