Weekly Parent Update – December 2, 2022
Each year I reflect on the wise words of Dr. Suess: “Maybe Christmas… doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
As parents, we work hard to deliver the best possible gifts for our children. I love hearing about my grown children’s perspectives on some of these gifts. Most of their favorite “gifts” revolve around intangible experiences. Simple times spent learning, laughing, and loving. This year, each of my six children requested an inscribed book we read together as a family over Christmas vacation.
One of the most important gifts we can offer is the gift of learning. I congratulate each of our LAU families. You have chosen our school because it provides an authentic learning experience. Students who put this into practice truly experience the gift of learning. Our families strongly support student learning through quality literature and meaningful discussion.
LAU is perfectly poised to deliver this gift of learning. It only happens with effort. I have spoken to many parents and students as they shared their efforts this past semester. I am grateful to our parents, students, mentors, and staff for their dedication to making the “gift of learning” a reality for many of our students and families.
I wish you the very best during this holiday season!
Warm Regards,
John Tripp,
Executive Director, Leadership Academy of Utah
