What a great year! As the school year ends, we would like to share our gratitude. As a board, we are thrilled about how our new executive team, John Tripp and Shelly Jenkins, have led LAU this school year. We appreciate that they have focused on knowing and serving the students and their families. We also want to thank all the mentors and staff at LAU for all their efforts this school year. Additionally, we are grateful to serve this school’s students by upholding LAU’s mission. When we meet each month, we love hearing reports of our students’ transformational learning experiences. 

Congratulations to our 2023 graduates! We are proud of you for completing a challenging academic course over the last four years. We look forward to seeing you at graduation.

LAU Graduation: The LAU Graduation ceremony celebrating our 2023 graduates will be held on Thursday, May 18, at 6:00 PM MT. Full event details and the Zoom link, along with information about the LAU Seniors website, can be found in Homeroom.

Important Class Schedule Reminder: In order for your student’s 2023-24 class schedule to be approved, they must be registered for the minimum number of required classes. Middle school students are required to register for at least four classes, and high school students must register for at least five classes. See the Parent Student Handbook – Enrollment section or the LAU website for help, if needed. Please reach out to your student’s school counselor, Kate Chaney (last names A-L) or Shauna Larson (last names M-Z), with any questions.

End of Semester Adventures Survey: Did your student participate in the winter semester Adventure course? If so, please take our parent survey and let us know how it went.

Join the LAU Board! We are currently accepting applications for new board members. If you are passionate about online/alternative education and want to extend the LAU experience to more students, please consider joining our governing team! Please fill out the Board of Directors Application.

Last chance to sign up for End-of-Year Computer Returns: To manage and update our device inventory, we require certain laptops and Chromebooks to be returned so we can remove them from circulation. Mandatory returns include exiting LAU students and computers or Chromebooks numbered below 560. If your student’s computer needs to be returned, please complete the Return/Exchange form and select your return method.

Keeping Laptop/Chromebook from One Year to the Next: Returning LAU students who keep their laptop/Chromebook from one school year to the next are required to complete the Laptop/Chromebook/Equipment Loan Agreement form as an annual renewal of their computer contract. Please complete the agreement form if you plan to keep your student’s laptop/Chromebook over the summer.

Summit Leadership Adventures Registration: Check out this great article on KSL about our Summit Leadership Adventure partner Summit Journeys. Our Summit Leadership Adventures program still has limited space available in Sessions 2 and 3. If your student is interested, there is still time to join! Registration will conclude on May 20.
