As you know, helping students develop their leadership skills is our major focus at LAU. Because of this, we are excited to announce a new partnership with Summit Journeys, led by world-renowned adventurer Martin Frey!

This year, Summit Journeys will host an all-new Summit Leadership Adventure course for LAU high school students near East Canyon Reservoir on a developed ranch with access to high-quality adventure activities. This will be an excellent opportunity for our current 9th-12th grade students to learn life-changing, character-building, and leadership-developing skills through tailored adventure education.

We’re excited to announce that registration for the Summit Leadership Adventure course is now open in SIS for the following session dates:

• May 29 – June 2
• June 5 – June 9
• June 12 – June 16
• June 19 – June 23

Please note that if enrollment numbers are low, students who sign up for the final session may be required to reschedule to an earlier session.

Martin Frey will host a parent-student information and Q&A night on Wednesday, March 1, at 7:00 PM MT. A reminder email, including the Zoom link, will be sent out Wednesday afternoon. All interested parents and students are encouraged to attend. For those unable to participate in the Q&A, we will record and send it out in next week’s Parent Update.

Habits for Student Success class: If your student has been consistently behind in their courses, feels like they can’t keep up, or is anxious about their ability to succeed this semester, the four-week Habits for Student Success class will be a great help to them. If you are interested in this opportunity for your student, contact Angela Maloy. This class will begin on March 28, 2023.
