Concepts of Engineering & Technology

In the very first words of his book My Inventions, Nikola Tesla writes, “The progressive development of man is vitally dependent on invention. It is the most important product of his creative brain.” What problems do you have? What takes up more time than it should? What would make your life easier, or allow you to accomplish even more? Engineering tries to solve these real-world problems and make our lives better and better! And now, increased access to technology makes it easier for all of us to become innovators, inventors, and problem-solvers.

Science helps us discover principles and facts, while engineering uses those principles to create new and innovative practical applications. For students who love science, this course will expand on those skills and their real-world uses. This course teaches students the process of turning problems into ideas and those ideas into products. It also provides introductions to the fields of civil, mechanical, chemical, and biological engineering.
